Artroom at Vali Gallery Opens with an Exhibition by Sanaz Shafaghi
Tehran – Artroom, the independent concept-driven project space at Vali Gallery, has launched its program with an exhibition of Sanaz Shafaghi's artistic jewelry and independent designs.
The inaugural exhibition presents a body of work centered on the metaphor of "Koloukh" (clod of earth). In Shafaghi's practice, the koloukh is more than a fragment of soil; it becomes a symbol of roots, lived experience, memory, and the enduring relationship between people and the land. Her wearable works move beyond ornamentation, serving instead as vessels for personal narratives, identity, and embodied experience.
Rather than a limitation, Artroom's intimate scale creates opportunities for focused experimentation, dialogue, and artistic inquiry, where the development of ideas is valued as highly as the finished work.
The inaugural exhibition has been organized by Ghazal Zare and Farin Bonakdar, marking the beginning of a series of projects dedicated to research, experimentation, and innovative artistic practices.

Artroom is an independent project space developed in collaboration with Vali Gallery, dedicated to research-based and concept-driven artistic practices.
Functioning as an artist's thinking space, Artroom provides a platform for developing, testing, and presenting ideas—from photography and individual objects to installations, sculptural works, and interdisciplinary projects.
Rather than being a limitation, the intimate scale of Artroom creates opportunities for experimentation, dialogue, and artistic exploration. It is a space where research, process, and critical inquiry are valued as much as the finished work.
As Curator of Artroom, Ghazal Zare collaborates with Vali Gallery to develop and curate its program, supporting emerging ideas, experimental practices, and meaningful dialogue within the field of contemporary art.
